What is Ream?

Similar to Patreon, Ream is a subscription/membership platform where supporters can enjoy exclusive content for a monthly cost. Different tiers have different prices and benefits. The platform has been designed by authors, which means it’s optimised for reading, writing, and books.

What is Inkitt?

Just like Wattpad, Inkitt is an app and website where you can read books online for free. It also gives authors the opportunity to offer a subscription service within the same platform so that their readers can choose between free content or paying for exclusive books/benefits.

Why do I have to pay?

I’ve been sharing free fiction online since 2011. On a few occasions, a couple of my books have been paywalled on sites, but I lost a lot of control, from my cover art to how much readers are charged. On top of that, a large % of my revenue went to the writing platforms / app stores.

A subscription model puts me as the author back in control. I keep more than 90% of what I earn, I don’t have to censor my content, and I can prioritise readers’ interests. Since launching my subscription community in 2023, I’ve been blown away and touched by how many readers have joined (350+ so far!), and my goal moving forwards is to continue to grow as an author while providing as much value to those readers as possible.

Is there a free option?

Yes! A lot of my books are available for free, which means you don’t need to subscribe to a tier to read them. And if you read on Ream or Inkitt, you won’t see any ads between chapters either.

On Ream, you will need to ‘Follow’ my page to access the free books. Following doesn’t cost anything. On Inkitt, you don’t need to follow me, but it’s still appreciated!

What are the subscription/membership options?

Is there an app?

Yes! Inkitt’s app is available through the App Stores. Ream’s app can be downloaded directly from their site rather than going through an App Store.
